CALL FOR CHAPTER
As it is known, international irregular migration movements are an area which an important political problem and its need to be cooperated for solution with its effects. The migration journeys triggered by political, military, geographical, cultural, social, economic, ecological, and even psychological factors as well as individual factors; reach different social dimensions together with global inequalities, and cause humanitarian problems between countries. This view, which is often described as other, foreign, illegal, immigrant, asylum seeker or refugee, is also discussed and examined within itself. In other words, the question of whether irregular migration movements at the international scale is an obligation or a necessity to the hierarchy of needs also remains an important topic of discussion.
Historically, it is seen that long-distance migration mobility is differentiated in settled and nomadic societies, however, the main factor leading to migration is mostly economic factors. People or societies have always desire better and prosperity through self-realization or an effort to exist. The fact that today’s international population mobility is moving from south to north is also a product of living standards and economic expectations. Especially the financial opportunities of the western countries can be seen attractive in the rest of the world, long and dangerous journeys can be taken into consideration. In this sense, as well as the lifestyle awareness that technological development has made clear, the high standards of living that migration generating geographies cannot overcome are the familiar dimensions of international migration mobility.
In the context of migration literature and theories, it should be said that most of the migration examples of today’s world are unique and have different definitions. Mass migration movements that emerge in time, space and human dimensions find meaning within the framework of spontaneity and within their own conditions of formation. In one dimension, local and international population mobility and migration processes continue as a result of different dynamics and as a result of continuous dynamism and search for balance.
From an international point of view, the real problem is on which axes the migration process will be handled and evaluated. Especially when looking at global inequalities, underdevelopment, interregional development and demands for democratic development, the claim that international migration is a structural and cyclical reality rather than a problem area seems to be a more correct way. In other words, new forms of “interdependence,, bilateral and regional alliances rapidly transform the lives of many people, and with this transformation the fate of both states and societies is shaped together.
From the perspective of the migration routes and transit countries it is seen to occupy a central place and route geography of Turkey. It should be noted that many asylum seekers or migrants, especially from the countries of Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, use Turkey as a transit country and a region that can be migrated. Turkey’s presence on the migration route brings with it the state of being a center of attraction. In other words, Turkey positioned as a center county for asylum seekers and refugees due to geographical features. The idea of reaching out to European countries, the United States and other developed countries over Turkey, keeps Turkey is a country which used for the link of connection purpose. However, the Middle East origin recent irregular migration mobilities have been turned Turkey into a port of refugees and intense irregular migrants Syrian population have been faced. On the other hand, international irregular migration mobilities are directed towards Europe, especially Greece and Italy, present a global scale appearance. Starting from this perspective, an international book call for chapters is made the basis of the topics above which examples of irregular migration targeted Turkey and Europe.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and contributions and wish you success in your works.
